Two Goats and a Donkey!

On The 1st Day of Halloween

Thursday, October 1, 2026

The first day of Halloween! What an exciting time! It's October 1, 2026, and the spirits are in the air! I can practically feel the cold breath of the grave that a zombie is rising out of (through the heat and humidity that still plagues south Mississippi, of course)! Creepy time is upon us again! Two years ago, I gave you the 31 days of Halloween. It was a nice attempt, but the writing in each of those was subpar, at best. They were just quickies to get something out and to display the AI images I'd created for Halloween. Last year I didn't do anything at all with Halloween, because last year I was going through some things and just didn't participate. This year is much better, and I have a good feeling about these 31 days! And as you can see, I've decided to participate this year and present you with a much improved 31 days! Of course I still have AI Halloweeny (Halloweenie?) images to get the mood somber and dark!

Halloween is derived from the Celtic New Year, aka Samhain (pronounced SOW-in), when the veil between the worlds was at its thinnest. The word "Samhain" translates from Irish Gaelic into "summer's end", although I would think that by the time Samhain came around Now while Halloween has a set date, being based on a solar calendar, Samhain was based on the lunar calendar, and it was set on the full moon that fell hallway between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice. Thus it was a floating holiday, not one set in stone, but in lunar illumination. This was my own opinion, of course, and scholars completely disagree with me on this one! My own belief is more in tune with modern Paganism, of which at one time I was associated, so historically, I'm probably full of bullshit lol.

Ok, guys and gals, I hope you enjoyed this little snippet for the first day of Halloween and keep coming back for the other 30 days! Peace, love, and Samhain!

The images below are all AI-generated by me with ChatGPT, Grok, and Google Gemini on my iPhone. Enjoy!
