Two Goats and a Donkey!

Happy Friday, everyone! It's the start of the weekend for some, the eve of the weekend for others (myself included)! It's also Halloween Eve, so let's get going with some ghosties, goblins, and ghoulies!

First, let's address the sadness from this week. Sir Patrick Stewart passed away, I thought yesterday, but evidently it was Wednesday night. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia, and these are evidently what caused his death. He was a knighted British actor who brought elegance and dignity to Star Trek: The Next Generation and to every character and show he played on. I knew him best from Star Trek: TNG, the movie Jeffery (with Steven Weber from Wings), and from the X-Men movies. He was very much an ally of the LGBT community, and best friends with Sir Ian McKellen, another famous knighted British actor, who played Magneto in X-Men, Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, and many other roles. Patrick's legacy will live on far into the future.

Ok, so tomorrow is Halloween! And I still have no decorations out lol. It's tough being a broke bitch who wants to decorate the yard lol, but I'm also lazy and shiftless, so there's that too. But anyway, tomorrow is Halloween and I'm off work, so that's wonderful! What's not wonderful is that Steve won't be down this weekend, but I'll spend the holiday with Ian and we'll have fun anyway! It's supposed to rain tomorrow, which we definitely need! It's been so dry and we're under a burn ban, so all the stuff I need to burn is just taking up space in my laundry room until that burn ban lifts.

Right now, while I'm typing all this out, I'm being stalked by a goober doxle (Cooper, "doxle" referring to his mixture of Dachshund and Beagle), who wants me to play with him with his pink zebra, which is so beat up and unstuffed after his antics! He is also begging for treats! He's had plenty of treats for today and has had a cheese topper on his dry food, so he definitely isn't getting anything more right now! But, you know, you try to reason with a dachshund and you may as well just be bashing your head into the wall, because the effect is about the same! Neither is going to produce viable results, and will just end up giving you a headache! But I wouldn't trade my little goober for anything! He's the light of my life and I love him to pieces!

This morning is bank day, which means before I go in to work, I have to go by the bank to deposit the funds for the last 3 days at the store and get change for the weekend. Nothing stupendous, nothing elaborate, just a bank run, but of course I have to leave much earlier than I normally would. And it being the last Friday of the month, and with the bank being understaffed these days, I most likely will end up leaving even earlier than a bank run would normally require. And of course I have to watch who I get these days too. Most of the tellers are used to how I request change (I have it broken down by register and/or cash bag depending on what I need), but I have one teller who tells me my system confuses her and takes too long, so I now have to go prepared with 2 different notes for the change. One for her, which just consolidates everything together so I then have to separate it out later, and another for everyone else, which means I get the change the way I need and don't have to do any extra work. Always fun!

In the images below, I of course have Patrick Stewart, first in his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: TNG, then just an image from his younger days, and then end those three with a birth-to-death dated image for him. Next is an AI (duh) image of me riding a Pernese blue dragon. "Pernese" refers to the planet Pern, from the book series Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. She was an Irish author who was very prolific, creating the Pern series which contains well over a dozen books, as well as many other series of books. Her son, Todd, has tried to continue the Pernese tradition, but I find his books to be dull and unimaginative, so I don't read his. The next image is a shirt at the store that would so be perfect for Steve! "Wine, Dine, and Sixty Nine"! The last is an image from an advertisement that came in the mail yesterday. It looks so delish! But it's Pizza Hut, and Pizza Hut these days is but a pale shadow of the real Pizza Hut from back in the day. At one time, Pizza Hut was most definitely the king of the pizzas, and it was always a treat to be able to get one from them! Nowadays, it's dead last on the pizza totem pole and I haven't had one in years. But I'm willing to give this bad boy a try!

Ok, my kiddos, I think this is it for today. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and I will hopefully see y'all tomorrow, because I just can't let Halloween pass without doing another blog for it! Don't forget the 31 Days of Halloween are separate from this part of the blog, and you can view today's 30th Day of Halloween here, with navigation at the bottom for accessing the other days. Anyway, stay safe, stay sweet, don't let the bastards of the world bring you down to their level, and love you all!
