Two Goats and a Donkey!![]() On The 23rd Day of HalloweenWednesday, October 23, 2024 On the twenty-third day of Halloween, my true love gave to me 23 graveyard plots, 22 rings of smoke, 21 chupacabras, 20 black cats, 19 jack-o-lanterns a'burnin', 18 shrines of lies, 17 skulls a'flamin', 16 Wednesday Addams a'dancin', 15 bonfires a'burnin', 14 shirtless sorcerers casting, 13 phantoms floating, 12 eyeballs a'staring, 11 Red Eye Louie Vodquilas, 10 fireball spells whirling, 9 hellhounds snarling, 8 ghosts a hauntin', 7 witches stirring, 6 skeletons clacking, 5 crows a'murderin', 4 ghouls a'dancin', 3 spiders spinning, 2 zombies running, and a vulture in the Halloween tree! Hump Day! It's Hump Hump Hump Day, folks! Midweek! Hard to believe we've made it this far in one piece! But we have, at least I hope all of us are in one piece! Was a bit dicey for me, but I managed to keep it all together! After today, Thursday will blow by, then Friday will be here, although it's possible Steve and Ian won't be able to come down until Saturday morning. Hopefully that won't be the case, but I know he's always tired after pulling a double on Friday, and this Friday will be ballgames with less help than he normally has, so he may be way too tired to travel that long highway down to here. But we'll see and Friday will bring what Friday will bring!Last night, I once more looked for that creature as I went through the Dog Curve, but of course didn't see it. I told Tyler at work about it last night, and I discovered that he actually lives here in Rawls Springs, not that far from me, and he's going to keep a look out for the creature too when he drives back home after work. It's still rather frightening to wonder what that creature could have been! I sent the story in to A Paranormal Chicks podcast yesterday morning, so it will probably be read sometime around February. I know I keep talking about it, but damn...it was scary!
One bit of sadness for today - it was 28 years ago this morning that my father passed away. My mother, sister, brother, and I were all there with him as he took his last breath. While it's a sad occasion, I'm thankful that I was able to be there with him for that last moment of his life. We stood vigil over him for 16 hours before he passed. Being this close to Halloween, I lost my love of the holiday for a few years, but finally was able to enjoy it again. In six days will be the 7th anniversary of my mom's death. Her wake was actually on Halloween and her funeral on November 1st, so it's taken a while since her death to be able to enjoy the holiday once more. This year, I had to put my beautiful and loving Maggie Mae (my cat) to sleep 2 weeks ago today, and that's made the holiday a bit sad this year. I've not bothered turning on my Halloween decorations outside nor have I changed the batteries on those that need it. But the closer we get to the holiday, the better I'll adjust and will be able to enjoy it. I hope. Oh, and here's the Eye Candy that you're looking for! Enjoy!
