Happy Halloween!!!! This is my 60th Halloween (good GOD!) in my 59 years! Of course I have no recollection of any of the Halloweens from my early childhood. In fact, I can't recall a single time we celebrated Halloween in New York before we moved south, but I turned 6 almost 3 weeks after the move, so I guess that's to be expected? In fact, thinking hard on it just now, I can't say that I know the first Halloween I remember. I have vague recollections of having dressed up one year when young, and I remember my step-niece, Becky (a year younger than me) and I cutting out bats and vampires from construction paper to tape to the walls of my playroom, but for some reason Halloween memories elude me. Teenage years I remember much better, and I remember my mother really loved Halloween. She'd think up elaborate stunts for us to do each year, which of course we never ended up doing. It's kind of weird, honestly, that I don't have very many Halloween memories, since horror has always been a big part of my life. But then again, I lived in what I believed to be a haunted house, and I have very strong memories of ghostly and poltergeist activities going on while growing up, so maybe that's why the Halloween memories aren't very strong.

Anyway, here I am rambling on, as usual! I wanted to add in that I totally forgot, when I posted yesterday about Patrick Stewart passing away, that Susan Saint James passed away 2 days earlier! Susan was my original favorite actress as a kid. I loved her in McMillan and Wife opposite Rock Hudson. I also loved her in Kate and Allie, a 1980's show that lasted 6 seasons. And Susan was definitely an advocate for LGBT equality! I mean, she and Rock Hudson were very close, so she was well aware that he was gay, even if the rest of the world didn't know until much later. So, she makes 2 of my favorite celebrities that have died this week. I guess as I get older, the celebrities I grew up with are obviously going to die, but it just seems like so many from my childhood are dead or dying now. And let's face it, I'll be 60 in May, whether or not I look or feel that old. Hehe, my body certainly does feel that old, though, especially after a stressful day at work and I'm limping at home because my whole body hurts, or I wake up at 3:30am due to severe leg cramps and then I just decide not even to try going back to bed after walking 100 laps around the kitchen to try and make the cramp go away (totally not an actual example...haha, yeah, right, that was my morning today). Hmmm, talk about scary on Halloween!

So I am off work today, but Steve unfortunately wasn't able to come down. It'll just be Ian and me adventuring this weekend. Ian's parents are supposed to come down today, and we'll hang out with them for a bit and have lunch. Probably go to The Lucky Rabbit or somewhere. All of that is still up in the air, which is fine. We don't always have to have a plan!

Below, I have several AI-generated pics just for Halloween! They make me happy lol, so hopefully they'll make you, gentle reader, happy as well! Anyway, have a safe and happy Halloween, get some candy, get some treats, and set some tricks!
