Happy Hump Day to you all! I hope everyone is in a happy mood and getting ready for Halloween, which is just around the corner! I've added to my decorations since the last update, and I've also had a little vandalism occur to my DIY decoration. You, gentle reader, may remember last time I included pictures for a hellish firepit made from plastic bones, expanding spray foam, red christmas lights, and black paint. I made my own version of it (square rather than round) and added a skeletal arm reaching up from the ashes to hold a black lantern (that's really too big, so I may be one the lookout for a smaller lantern). I thought it looked pretty good, and I made it Monday morning before going to work. When I got home from work that night, I went to plug it in (because I had worried about having it plugged in all day when I wasn't home), and found that someone had taken a can of that spray foam - but not mine, because all three cans I used to make the display were in the garbage can in my locked house - and covered the face of the skull in the display. The foam did not just expand from the display itself because a) no way for it to, but also b) all the foam on the display had thoroughly dried and I had painted over it. I guess I could chalk this up as a "Halloween trick", but I just such deeper sinister vibes from this, especially since someone purposefully found a can of the spray, walked onto my property, and then proceeded to attempt to destroy my property. I was able to fix it yesterday morning, but it does not look as good as it did originally, since I was unable to get all the extra foam off and there are now markings where the foam pulled the paint off the skull. Even though I reapplied the spray paint, I can definitely see the difference and where the damage was done.

So yesterday, we had a new employee at work. It was his first day of training, and I thought he did very well. He made one mistake, but it was an easy one to have made, so I definitely don't hold that against him. The scary thing is that after one day, he's already at, or beyond, the other new guy who has been there for 2 months now. I don't wish to speak ill of people, so I will just leave it at that. Monday I didn't get out of work until 30 minutes after close because of the afforementioned employee who's been with us for 2 months, whereas last night, I got out 10 minutes after closing. Such a difference it makes closing with, we'll call him JC, as opposed to closing with someone who pays attention, listens, and knows what he's doing. JC should be so much further along than he is, but he just doesn't seem to grasp a) the urgency of things, b) where to locate things in the store that he should definitely know by now, and c) how to prioritize things. The new guy, we'll call him MP, already has a grasp on so much of all that.

In other news, I have now been sleeping in my bed for a few weeks, and I definitely prefer it to sleeping either in the recliner or on the sofa. At first, my back hurt terribly after sleeping on the mattress for a night, but my body is slowly becoming used to it again. It's nice to be able to spread out a bit more than I could on the sofa, and I can roll over in either direction without worrying about not having the space to do so. Hard to believe, now, that I spent 5 years on the sofa. To quote an old soap opera I used to love watching, "like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives". Sadly, the less sand in the hourglass, the quicker it seems to go. Years pass like months the older you get. You start to realize you're approaching the end in a rocketship rather than on your own feet. Haha, ok, before I grow too maudlin here, let's move on!

Ian and I have also launched a new idea to make some extra money. I'm not going to say just yet what it is, but it took some doing to get it off the ground and going! So much red tape is ridiculous, and especially when you have to do things just right in order to get it properly started! We were ready to throw in the towel today if I still couldn't get something verified, but thank goodness I was able to do it this morning! Hallelujah! Now to see if it actually makes us any money or not! I have a feeling that it will, and I'm looking forward to this new venture in our lives!

Ok, let's discuss pictures! I have 66 pictures down below for your viewing pleasure, as well as the header picture at the top of Maggie Mae resting on my bed. She for one is very happy that I've moved back into my bed! The first five images below are also of Maggie, various shots of her on the bed. She said she was ready for her closeup! Haha! Next we find Cooper trying to look cute, and then the rest are of him sleeping while I'm watching tv, first in the recliner and then on the sofa. He's such a cutie-patootie! The next 2 images are of the Spider Lilies growing up under the sweet almond bush next to my front steps. The folklore is that 6 weeks after the Spider Lilies bloom will be the first frost. Rather hoping that's true! I'm ready for some good cooler weather!

The next 20 images are of my little family (minus Maggie), Cooper, Ian, and Steve. Monday was also Steve's and my 18th anniversary together. Again, time flies. I can't believe it's been 18 years since he and I started dating! That's almost 2 decades of my almost-6-decades-long life! Next is a picture of the wax warmer Steve got me for our anniversary.

The following three are from Lowe's, when I went Sunday morning with Ian and Steve. Next are images of Cooper and I going back to Lowe's that afternoon once Steve and Ian had gone back home, including one of Cooper walking on the grass (a rarity! He hates the outdoors!). The next 24 images are of my decorations, including the firepit before, during, and after the damage was done to it. I think I fixed it up fairly well, but I can still see the damage on it. The last 3 images are of 2 timely memes and then a bookcase idea that I found that I thought Ian would like (and he did).

As before, I separated the male model pictures onto a second page, click here to see the eye candy. Enjoy!

Ok gang, gotta run, but glad I was able to get this out today! I hope you all have a happy humpday (it's my day off, so I definitely will!) and a great rest of your week! Love you all!
