Two Goats and a Donkey!

On The 18th Day of Halloween

Friday, October 18, 2024

On the eighteenth day of Halloween, my true love gave to me 18 shrines of lies, 17 skulls a'flamin', 16 Wednesday Addams a'dancin', 15 bonfires a'burnin', 14 shirtless sorcerers casting, 13 phantoms floating, 12 eyeballs a'staring, 11 Red Eye Louie Vodquilas, 10 fireball spells whirling, 9 hellhounds snarling, 8 ghosts a hauntin', 7 witches stirring, 6 skeletons clacking, 5 crows a'murderin', 4 ghouls a'dancin', 3 spiders spinning, 2 zombies running, and a vulture in the Halloween tree! Happy Friday y'all! It's the last day of the week for many of us, and my gosh, this has been a long week! I definitely need this recharge of the weekend, this time with Ian and Steve, and dinner tomorrow night with Cathy, Shane, and Blaise. Tomorrow morning, I have to drop my van off before 8am, so we're going to have to get an early start in the morning. No staying up until midnight tonight!

It was cold again this morning, 43°! Unheard of for October in Mississippi (not really, but seems like it). For the second day in a row, I turned my heat on. I like it cooler, but sometimes extended lengths of chilly weather just make me miserable lol. I'm such a princess, I don't like it too hot and I don't like it too cold! So much for my idea of moving to Montana! But also, living up North I would wear more clothing than I do down here (fewer shorts and short sleeve shirts), so it might be a non-issue. That would be nice if true!

This morning, I'm listening to Neil Diamond's "Holly Holy" because I fell in love with it when they used it in the Midnight Mass series by Mike Flanagan (he and his brother are commonly referred to as the "Flanaverse" because of their very successful 1-season series they've produced). It's amazing they used the entire song in an episode too. Not just a snippet, not just half the song, but the entire song from beginning to end, and they did it beautifully too! Midnight Mass is definitely my favorite of the Flanaverse shows, the first being The Haunting of Hill House (very close second favorite), the second The Haunting of Bly Manor which turned out to be more of a lesbian love story than anything (and was well-done as well), Midnight Mass the third, The Midnight Club as the fourth (and, in my opinion, dead last in all of them), and The Fall of the House of Usher as the last so far (and very much rivals my two favorites - probably tied with The Haunting of Hill House for second place). Such great shows, and I highly recommend 4 of the 5 (the fifth is interesting, but it was a struggle to get through).

Anyway, I've gone on long enough about the Flanaverse! You came here for the pictures, not my ramblings!
