Two Goats and a Donkey!
On The 9th Day of HalloweenWednesday, October 9, 2024 On the nineth day of Halloween, my true love gave to me 9 hellhounds snarling, 8 ghosts a hauntin', 7 witches stirring, 6 skeletons clacking, 5 crows a'murderin', 4 ghouls a'dancin', 3 spiders spinning, 2 zombies running, and a vulture in the Halloween tree! Hello my Hallowed Haunters! I hope today finds all of you well and happy on this mid-week day! Wednesday is Hump Day, and it's all downhill from here! Sorta, anyway. I mean, I do have to work 10am-8pm Friday, and I work Saturday as well, taking time from my boys, but it's all good. 🙂So, today has actually been a very bad day for me. I had to have my cat, Maggie, euthanized this morning. She's been having issues with Feline Herpes for a while. She's had it ever since I adopted her 8 years ago, but only in the last year or so has it really gotten out of hand. She was on antibiotics for it for a while, and while at first they seemed to help, later they really didn't really seem to help at all. Finally, last night, I got home from work and found her listlessly lying on the bed, just staring into space. She barely knew I was with her, as she didn't pay any attention to me when I tried interacting with her. I knew then that she was telling me it was time. So I took her to her vet in Taylorsville this morning, and stayed with her throughout. She is now buried next to Maverick and Max, my first cat and my first dog. I need to spruce up their little graveyard a bit and I need to get headstones for Max and Maggie - Maverick has had one for quite some time. He passed 5 months before I adopted Maggie. Both he and Max were euthanized at the same vet's office as Maggie. This third time wasn't any easier, not that I would have expected it to be. But, we're here to discuss and celebrate Halloween, not dwell on sad things. Today I have a few more pictures for you than I did yesterday, so I hope everyone enjoys them!
