Two Goats and a Donkey!Tuesday, March 16, 2021 Welcome to the Tuesday entry for this blog/journal thingamabob website. Tuesday, March 16, 2021. It was not a good day. There were two reasons why it wasn't a good day. One reason started last night when I was completely unable to fall asleep. I just lay there for a couple hours, then I got up and took my sleeping aids again (or maybe for the first time, I really couldn't remember if I had already taken them earlier that evening or not), and went back to bed but still couldn't fall asleep. I tossed and turned, I turned on the TV to watch some Netflix, I turned that off and pulled up my Kindle app on my phone and read several pages of a book on there, and still nothing. I finally just got up in defeat and got on my computer; I figured I would work on a special entry about my dog, Max, to pass the time. Well, before I really even started that, I knew I couldn't. I was way too tired and sleepy, even if I couldn't sleep, so I knew I had to do something. Out of desperation, I got into my recliner and managed several short naps for the remainder of the night until my alarm went off at 4:30. The second reason was probably a result of the first; my IBS flared up pretty good this morning. Stress brings on IBS (at least it's one of the contributors for my flare ups), and having only gotten, at best, 1.5 - 2 hours of sleep definitely caused some stress. My flare up was so bad that I ended up having to call in for work, even though I couldn't really afford another point against me at this time (hoping my intermittent FMLA will be approved and go into effect so most of the points won't keep counting against me). But, I couldn't help it, I was in no shape to work effectively today.Besides spending most of my time in the bathroom today (sorry for the TMI), I snuggled with Max and Maggie when I could. Honestly, most of today is a blur. So, instead of trying to recap the day, I just found a bunch of old (and relatively current) aquarium pictures from the last 5 years or so and have put them at the bottom of this page. Enjoy that and hopefully tomorrow will be more of a normal day! George |
