Two Goats and a Donkey!

Wednesday, March 3, 2021

Today I have begun work on this new website, which I honestly don't know why I created, but I came across some inspiration for the name last night and figured what the hell, why not? Today has been a crazy day. But first I should introduce myself. My name is George, and I work from home as part of a call center. Working from home has taken some getting used to, but I've been doing this for 2 months now and I love it. I love being close to my furbabies, Max the Jack-Rat dog and Maggie the calico cat. Working from home also saves on gas, since I never go anywhere during the week. I suffer from IBS, and working from home has been a God-send for that as well since I have flareups quite often.

Today I had some trouble with my phone software (I don't have an actual phone, just a headset plugged into my work computer and Avaya software on the computer that acts as a phone). It couldn't access the phone server for a couple of hours today, so all I could do was continuously try connecting for those hours until it finally did. Lord have mercy, that was something else, let me tell you. Nothing quite like having to sit in front of your work computer for that long and not be able to do any actual work. But, I'm definitely not complaining, it sure beats having to leave my furbabies for 9-10 hours a day.

One reason I'm really glad, especially now, to be working from home is that my dog, Max, has been diagnosed with a liver disease and IBD. I decided to forego the biopsy to find out if the liver disease is cancerous or not, mainly because it wouldn't make much of a difference and I wouldn't want to put him through all that. What I've been told by the vet is, best case scenario he might live another year, worst case scenario he has 1-3 months. So I've decided to go with medication and just try to give him the best life I can until his time comes. And working at home gives me the opportunity to be here with him far more often than I would otherwise be able to.

Well, anyway, I don't want to make this first entry too boring or too long, so I'll sign off now until the next entry. I plan to try doing one of these a day, but you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men. I'm truly excited about this website though, so I'll definitely try to make it a daily thing, or at least as close to daily as I can.
