Two Goats and a Donkey!

Thursday, June 27, 2024

Well, I guess this month will only see two entries, but that's better than one or none, right? Right! So, moving on, let's see what I've been up to these last few weeks. I've worked 2 Saturdays this month and will be working a third one. So much for the offer I signed that said I'd need to work 1-2 Saturdays a month. That quickly became 2 Saturdays a month, and I see it already becoming 2-3 Saturdays a month. Yeah, I see a change coming in that department before very long. And I probably shouldn't post that here, but you know, sometimes you just have to say what the fuck and move along.

In happier news, I now have a puppy! I got him on his 1 month birthday, June 18, from my neighbors across the road. Their miniature dachshund had a litter of 7 puppies, and they wanted me to pick one of them for myself. At the time, I wasn't ready for a new dog, since I was still very much hurting from Max's death in January, but as time went on, I decided I'd like to have one of them. One of the puppies died, so that left 6 to choose from, and I chose little Cooper. You'll see pics of him down below! It's been a learning curve for me - first off, he was really too young to be separated from his mama, but she'd stopped nursing all the puppies, so they got used to eating solid food at a young age. He's a handful for sure. That first night (last Tuesday night), I was lucky that I was working that Saturday, since that meant I was off Wednesday, and the little bugger made sure I got no sleep at all that night. That was definitely the worst night. He's woken me up in the middle of the night or has gotten me up well before my alarm would have gone off every single night. But at least it's not all night like it was! He's cute as a button and already attached to me (or maybe just to any human lol, since he readily cuddles with Steve and Ian as well), and definitely wants to follow me around or just lay on me. Twice now he's peed on me, yesterday on my chest through my shirt, and this morning on my lap through my shorts and boxers. He eats a lot too, of course, being a growing puppy, but he never drinks. I guess he must get all his moisture through his food, but occasionally I'll use a feeding syringe just to keep him hydrated. I took him to the vet on the second day, since I was taking Maggie anyway for her feline herpes medicine, and he got a clean bill of health other than having fleas and hookworms. CapStar took care of the fleas while a dewormer that I gave him once a day for three days took care of the hookworms.

Below are some images I've taken, including many flowers from both my yard/porch and out and about in nurseries. I've also worked more on my sketching, you'll see all three more of my attempts below as well. I need to get back to doing that, I slacked off on it. There are also four pics of a kitten that we spotted out at Barrett's Garden Center in Columbia, and of course pics of my boys and myself. I cleaned up my aquarium (the image I'm posting is after the first clean but before the second), and added some rocks to it. There's also a pic of a guy at Sam's we thought was hot that Steve asked me to take a pic of lol. And I found a Snoopy Hot Wheels with his moving dog house! Also, you'll see six images of Maine Coon kittens that an old coworker is trying to find homes for. I so wanted one of them, but several factors keep me from trying to get one. First of all, there's Cooper, and I didn't want to try socializing and caring for a new kitten while trying to do the same with Coop. Second, Maggie hates other cats (and she's not very fond of Cooper), so that's a huge problem as well. And third, I do have a pair of parakeets, no telling what the kitten might try as it grows up to get to them!

As before, I separated the male model pictures onto a second page, click here to see the eye candy. Enjoy!

Ok, I think that's it for now. Enjoy the images, especially the eye candy ones, and I'll see you next time!
