Two Goats and a Donkey!Tuesday, July 09, 2024 Happy July, everyone! I hope this month finds everyone well and good! I'm on day 2 of my week vacation, and just trying to enjoy the week! It's already going by way too fast! I am so stiff and sore this morning from all the outdoor activities I did yesterday. I mowed, cut back brush, hauled limbs to a burn pile, had a nice little bonfire going, etc. Today I can barely move lol. Well, that's not entirely true, but it's not entirely untrue either! As with most things, the truth is to be found somewhere in the middle. I'm writing this up before I start getting ready for my doctor's appointment this morning. I found a doctor that I want to try, in Petal, so we shall see how this goes. I'll update when I return, since I won't finish this before I go. So as I said above, I'm on my week vacation from work. This past weekend, I went to Mobile on Sunday, visiting the Schillinger Flea Market and the B & B Pet Stop pet store. I'd planned to hit the antique store on Schillinger as well, but it was closed on Sunday. So much for that! At the flea market, I wandered around a bit, almost regretting going since it was so hot that day. But, I ended up finding a few Hot Wheels (all loose, not in the package), a Ken doll that I had been wanting to get (gotta keep up with Ian here lol), a beautiful RS Prussia berry bowl set that was originally $125, marked down to $65, but I got it for $44. Man was I stoked about that! It was very light and delicate, and was 114-132 years old. I also found a cracked Spotted Optic/Inverted Thumbprint amberina water pitcher (although according to the folks in the EAPGS group on Facebook, it's not EAPG but actually European. So I dunno. After I got home, a horrific thing happened. I carried all the bags in, Cooper was yapping and whining which rather made me nervous, so I forgot how I had the bags, went to release one of them - and released 2 instead without realizing it until the one containing the RS Prussia bowls hit the floor and I heard the unmistakable sound of porcelain breaking. And of course it was the big master bowl that shattered rather than one of the smaller serving bowls. Ugh! I was so heartbroken over that! The money alone would have been enough to upset me, but the fact it was so old, had survived so much, only to meet its demise on my kitchen floor.... I also got Ian a surprise gift that I hope he'll like. I won't say here what it is, since he's like the only person that reads this blog, but I think (hope?) he'll like it. It sort of combines one of his passions along with one of mine. And that's all I'll say on that! The doctor visit went well. Of course, he lectured me on being overweight and that I need to lose 20 pounds (in my opinion, 40 would be ideal), and I may worry about that, or I may just go on as I have been, which has worked just fine for me over the years. Body positivity and all that! And my gosh, I didn't expect him to be such a hunky guy! I'd seen his picture online, of course, but he looks so far removed from that picture! So he's changing out my blood pressure meds, but keeping everything else the same. We'll see how it goes with the bp med change. Ok, picture below. The first 19 are of myself and Cooper, the evening sky, and my Crepe Myrtle trees. The next 2 are of the Amberina pitcher I got (you can see the "repaired/reinforced" crack in the second pic). Then there are pics from the pet shop. That lungfish kinda through me, I wasn't prepared for that! And then the pics of the broken bowl, along with one of the 5 survivors. Then 4 more pics of Cooper and me, then a little mini photoshoot of Ken. I didn't just go all out, just did a quick photo test on him lol. The next 3 pics are of my pumpkin growing in the backyard. That vine is huge! Then one of my loppers caught in a hedgebush, some pics of where I've been clearing out brush, and then another pic of Cooper with my face peering over him. As before, I separated the male model pictures onto a second page, click here to see the eye candy. Enjoy! Ok, that's it for now! Have a great rest of your day and I'll talk more later! George |
